Bridging the Gaps at Home

A veteran in Boiling Springs was able to receive assistance through the VA, including the installation of a wheelchair ramp to provide access to his home. But once inside, he faced another challenge. The door thresholds between rooms made it difficult—and unsafe—for him to maneuver his wheelchair throughout the house.

Operation Restore Hope stepped in to fill that gap. We created small transition ramps over the thresholds, allowing him to move more safely and easily from room to room.

It was a relatively simple project, but one that made a meaningful difference: giving this veteran greater independence and the ability to safely navigate his own home.
